The location of Dobrinishte makes it to be one of the important starting points to Pirin Mountain, and the mineral springs have attracted people for thousands of years.
There are several legends for the name of Dobrinishte, but two of them are decisive. According to the first, the name derives from the two largest neighborhoods - Dobrechkovo and Gumnitsa. In order to solve the dispute about the name, it is decided to take parts from both the names of the neighborhoods and they created the name Dobrinishte.
According to the second legend, the name comes from the good things the settlers have found here - the incredible climate, the proximity of the mountain and the great blessing - the mineral water. Last but not least, the kindness of people who have chosen to live here. So from these good things was born the name of the settlement, which in Turkish time and after the liberation in 1912 was called both Dobrinishta or Dobrinishte, and in 1966 its present name was specified, which is known not only in Bulgaria , but also around the world.
Situated at the foot of Pirin mountain with favorable climatic conditions combined with clean air and mineral springs make Dobrinishte a unique place for winter and summer tourism.
Another winter resort – Bansko is close to Dobrinishte. The boundary between the two zones are the beautiful rocky peaks and the chains of Mount Polezhan, Strazhite Peak, Kaimakchal Peak and the waterfall between the Desilishka and the Damianishka River. This allows lots of interesting routes and connections to be explored .
